Operating Systems - Fundamentals

This course teaches the fundamentals of operating systems with particular emphasis on Windows and Linux.

It is one of two foundational courses recommended for those with little to no background in cybersecurity, IT or network operations.

Upon completing this course, students can expect to be able to demonstrate a genuine foundational understanding of command line interfaces, kernels, I/O, filesystems, processes/services, active directory, permissions, logging, and even basic survey methodology.

Networking - Fundamentals

This course teaches the fundamentals of Ethernet & TCP/IP which are the basis of nearly all computer networks.

It is one of two foundational courses recommended for those with little to no background in cybersecurity, IT or network operations.

Upon completing this course, students can expect to be able to demonstrate a genuine foundational understanding of Ethernet, ARP, ICMP, TCP/UDP, DHCP, DNS, IPv4/IPV6 and other fundamental protocols as well as perform basic network administration functions such as subnetting, router/switch configuration, and more...

Cybersecurity I

This course teaches the fundamentals of cybersecurity, equipping students with the basic knowledge expected of entry level professionals.

Since this course builds upon skills, terminology, and concepts taught in PC098 and PC099, it is recommended (though not required) that those who are completely new to cybersecurity first complete those courses.

In this course, students will learn to identify and mitigate common attack vectors such as: Denial-of-Service (DoS), Phishing, Spoofing, Code Injection, Supply Chain Interdiction, Insider Threats, etc... Students will also learn to perform basic forensic investigations and malware analysis on multiple platforms.

Cybersecurity II

This is an intermediate level course which utilizes the knowledge and skills developed from prior courses and/or experience to apply them to common security practices.

Upon completing this course, students can expect to be able to demonstrate a genuine understanding of packet analysis, log triage, advanced firewall configurations, threats/attacks/vulnerabilities, security technologies and tools, security architecture/design, access control, risk management and cryptogography. Students will also utilize their skills in operating system administration to identify and mitigate direct security threats and learn to report threats and compromises by translating technical concepts to high-level briefs.

Students who complete this course are ready to pass standard industry security certifications and compete in the workforce.
